Jesse James: Throwing His Life Away
Sandra Bullock’s soon-to-be-former husband, Jesse James, told ABC’s Nightline that he threw away an amazing life by having extramarital affairs. It usually takes getting caught before an addict to sex, or porn, wakes up to reality.
i know. Exposure of what is done in secret is very painful, yet necessary. There is no turning around without it.
James also said:
“When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible, it made me feel horrible. And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught.”
There is a strange part of the addictive lifestyle in which you hope somebody will catch you, even as you strive so hard to keep it a secret. James’ comments just point up a truth of addictions: they are traps from which you need to be liberated. And sometimes the only way to get free is to be exposed, because the addict lacks the strength on his own to break away from the cycle.
And James’ comments also indicate the misery every addict experiences.
