Hugh Hefner Gets Some Play In Movie For Kids
It’s not news that Hugh Hefner likes his bunnies.
But what is interesting is that Hefner makes a vocal cameo in Hop, the animated feature from the makers of Despicable Me, which was released last month.
i have not seen the movie, but i have read various reviews.
The Playboy Mansion element of the movie has escaped most reviews i found, with the exception of the Hollywood Reporter and some family-oriented organizations.
And the movie has been out more than a month now.
Nevertheless, Breaking Free, the blog of Covenant Eyes, goes into some depth about it here.
Hefner’s reach into our society continues to expand. Of course the excuse is that most kids will miss what’s going on in the scene where E.B. — the main character — tries to get into the Playboy Mansion; that element is just to amuse the adults who took their kids to the theater.
But the dialogue apparently does mention the phrase “sexy bunnies” a couple of times and the main character insists that he is, in fact, a “sexy bunny.”
So here we have a pornography magnet and his empire getting referenced in a movie for children where the main character is claiming to be a “sexy bunny.”
Seriously?
