Pornified
The trailer for Miss Representation, a film about how the media shapes our understanding of women, leaves no doubt that pornography is a major shaping influence. There is much more at Miss Representation’s site.
The images used to demonstrate how women are depicted are clearly pornographic.
And the fact that most of the images used in the trailer were from advertisements and shows on television, not from porn films, is just another sign of how mainstream pornography has become. Our culture has been pornified, as Pamela Paul has documented.
And we are being pornified as a result.
