Mobile Porn
Pure Hope Blog recently posted this about mobile porn use (i.e. using your smartphone for porn).
It’s no surprise that people are using their phones this way, but the actual numbers are still worth considering.
- Nearly 20% of mobile searches are for porn
- 1 in 5 iPhone users admit to watching “adult content” on their phone frequently
- 24% of smartphone users have porn on their handset, 84% of whom said their partner did not know about it
- By 2015, the “global adult mobile market” will hit $2.8 billion
So what we can expect is more and more people accessing more and more porn everywhere from the waiting at the bus stop to standing in line at the bank to, well, wherever and whenever.

The normalization of porn is upon us whether we like it or not. When porn goes mobile, it becomes a constant companion for those who desire it. But it also becomes a constant companion, of sorts, to those of us who don’t desire it. Undoubtedly, people who don’t wish to see porn will see it over the shoulder of the person standing next to them somewhere in public.
And even if we manage to avoid inadvertently seeing someone else’s mobile device with porn on it, we will still have to deal with people who are increasing saturated by the world of pornography.
Of course this has massive ramifications for the younger generations who lack the maturity and self control to deal with unprecedented access to pornography.
