50 Shades Of Grey: The Conversation

The New York Times arts blog had a piece about a panel discussion in SoHo which centered on 50 Shades of Grey.

The members of the panel had their fair share of criticism for the series as a whole, as well as the first book.  In fact. most of the panelists said they didn’t even finish the first book.  Only one member of the panel had read the entire series.

That seems an indictment of sorts.  But indictments are not really the point.

At least the panelists had some cogent thoughts on the storyline — to the extent they had actually read it — and evaluated it in terms of their respective worldviews.

More questions linger.  Weigh in.
