Into Porn? See This
My wife and i were halfway through the film The Whistleblower when she turned to me and said: “Every man who is into porn needs to watch this movie.”
You can see the trailer, read stories about it and get a sense of what it’s all about here.
It’s a film based on the true story of a an American woman who participates in UN peace keeping efforts in Bosnia in the late 90s and early 2000s. It’s not a movie about porn per se. i had read the book, but the film was more gripping by far.
It is a movie about what a pornified culture makes possible. It is a story of disgusting and passive men promoting and profiting from the way a pornified society mistreats women.
In fact, there is really only one male character in the entir film who is good and actually is a real man.
The film made me ashamed to be not only a former addict, but ashamed to be a man in general. It is upsetting to watch. And rightfully so.
The link between pornography use and sex trafficking is real, even as much as segments of our society keep trying to say that they are separate. What you look at on your iPhone or Android affects women and enables their mistreatment by creating an increasing demand for sex as a commodity; sex as a consumable good or service. It is that mentality that makes sex trafficking possible.
Your porn use strengthens the commercial sex industry.
