The Tenacity Of Love

A good friend of mine who works in anti-human trafficking efforts through the non-profit Epiphany shared a phrase with me the other day which is really sticking with me. He said that a speaker at the recent Justice Conference in Philadelphia one of speakers used the phrase: The Tenacity Of Love in a talk about combatting sex trafficking.
The point was that the efforts to fight a global horror such as human sex trafficking requires the tenacity of love. Likewise, the fight for purity and freedom in a sexually saturated society requires tenacity. We have to stay in the fight; remain engaged in the battle. Really, we need to stop thinking simply in terms of battle and more in terms of war.
In military parlance, a war is composed of many battles. But the understanding of war is that it is a long-term reality. Battles are more short-term.
When it comes to living in the midst of a pornified culture as a man with an addictive past, i don’t simply fight battles, i must be on a war footing. i am not unique in this regard: every man with porn and sex addiction issues must do the same.
Tenacity. We need it.
Paul understood this and he wrote to the Galatian Christians saying: let us not become weary in doing good. All of Galatians Chapter 6 is right here.
One Response to “The Tenacity Of Love”
Can you give me the name of the non-profit you mentioned or a web site??
Found a bunch of hits with the word Epiphany.
