Who Are We Becoming?

A blog i just started following recently had a post by the title “Who Are You Becoming?”

While it may seem a bit long, it’s a quality read. And once you read it, the picture of the mousetrap will make more sense.

The sentiment of the post is that we are crippled by perpetual dissatisfaction. And as a result, we go chasing all sorts of things to try and fill the void.

St. Augustine knew this, as did the French philsopher and mathematician Blaise Pascal.

Both are famous for quotes to this effect.

“Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee.” ~ Augustine.

“There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus” ~ Pascal.
